Hey guys, I'm new here! I just bought Portraiture for the first time, never even heard of it until recently, until a friend showed me the version he downloaded from rapidshare. Yes I gave him a pile of crap for you. You really need to address that, send them some DMCA letters!
Anyway onto my newbie question, I watched the tutorial vid and put my settings just like they suggested, but when I run it I find I start losing my nose! The bridge of my nose starts to disappear and I look like a little piglet snort snort. It's too much! I tried lowering the threshold, is that the slider I should be most concerned about? It's only on this one set, must have been strange lighting in this particular set because it works great on other sets. Also one more question. I've been running it in batch mode in photoshop and it works great! On one set though it gives an error saying "feathering" is not available. It only happens on this one particular set. Any idea on that? Thanks for making a wonderful time saving product! |

As a 35 year plus master shooter, the first things that hits me when someones says something about the nose losing detail in an image edit, I immediately think shallow DOF or front focusing. Also, if you're selecting skintones that have minor shadow variations such as those that delineate the nose from the face you may be setting the controls to wipe out this shadow area. Portraiture can't make skin disappear, only work with tonal contrast variations which if adjusted oddly can make perceptions such as yours.
Also, you may be talking about the mask as you mention feathering as too much feathering can affect the outcome based on control settings. I'm assuming the one set means action set and based on the parameters of the image and the action used, you may not be able to feather. Friends don't let friends pirate software!! Slap him/her upside the head and stick small cactus thorns in their shoes plus take away a portion of each meal you have with them and tell them it's what they're doing to a company like Imagenomic when they steal software. If they're financially handicapped and need the software to generate income, I'd be glad to offer a good discount. And lastly, Imagenomic has had a lot of reports where 'customers' download bogus Imagenomic installers only to find when they ask for support that the installers contained viruses, spyware, trojans as well as identity phishers. Regards, George
